Moving North

We left Paicines on Monday 5/2 and headed north.  I had to take CA25 to US101 to I680 to I80 to I505 to I5.  It wasn't as bad as it sounds although the roads were rough in places and we had to cross a toll bridge.  I stopped at a truck plaza for lunch and then we stopped at Rolling Hills Casino for the night.  We parked out with the big rigs rather than paying $25/night.  We stayed 2 nights.  Luck was with us in the casino and Cookie wanted to watch basketball.

They had a buffett and on tuesdays & thursdays 50+ is half price with players card.  It was one of the better buffets we've eaten at.

On Thursday we moved on up the road towards Oregon.  We did meet our friends Bill and Lydia Sollinger in Anderson, CA for a wonderful chat.  We hadn't seen Bill and Lydia since the Vegas race.  They are full timers also and they will be volunteering in Montana this summer.  We may be able to see them again on our way back into the US from Canada.

After our visit we continued on north.  We stopped at another casino called Seven Feathers in Canyonville, OR.  We spent 2 night here also.  The slots were good to us again and basketball.  We had to refuel before continuing on, 94 gals and we're ready.  Not to worry we have a 125 gal tank.

Tonight we are at an rv park in Coburg, OR..  Tomorrow we are having lunch with Marti and Fred from Eugene.  Marti was our supervisor 5 years ago when we volunteered at Kam Wah Chung SHS in John Day, OR..  It has been 3 years since we last saw Marti and Fred.

Cookie has been able to see some basketball.  Out of 2 games she saw about 1 quarter.  It rained and the satellite went out which is the case with satellites.
